Green Bean Casserole

Here’s the traditional, classic recipe for green bean casserole. This is a MUST for all of your holiday get-togethers!

(makes 6 servings)

Ingredients

Non-stick cooking spray

1 – 10.5oz can cream of mushroom soup, low sodium if possible

¾ cup whole milk

Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

2 – 14.5oz cans cut green beans, low sodium if possible, drained

1&1/3 cups French fried onions, divided in half

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 C).

Coat a 1 and ½ quart casserole dish with non-stick cooking spray.

In a large bowl, stir together cream of mushroom soup and whole milk.

Season to taste with freshly ground black pepper.

Stir in two cans of drained green beans and 2/3 cup of French-fried onions.  Mix until combined.

Pour into greased 1½ quart casserole dish and smooth with the back of a spoon.

Bake in the center of your preheated oven for 30 minutes.

Remove and top with remaining French-fried onions.  Return to oven and bake for 5 more minutes, or until topping goes nice and crispy.

Let rest for 5-15 minutes and serve.
